In Conformity with the aims and objects of the Divine Life Society,Rishikesh,Sivananda Centenary Boys’ High School was Sponsored by the All Orissa Divine Life Society, Central Committee in 1984 to perpetuate the sacred memory of the Great Master, H.H. Sri Swami Sivananda Swaraswati,the Founder President of the Divine Life Society, Rishikesh and to put into action His Philosophy on education.

This institution is fed and fostered by the choicest blessings of H. H. Sri Swami Chidananda Saraswati Maharaj. 

The School is running now under President ship of H.H. Sri Swami Nirliptananda Saraswati. Sri Swami Sivachidananda Saraswati is personally looking after the students in the capacity of Secretary being assisted by ardent Brahmacharis and Vanaprasthi disciples of the Holy Master.

This school is basically a Brahmachari Ashram of ancient Gurukula system. Everybody here gets up at 4.30 am, tunes himself with the ‘Divinity’ within through prayer and meditation. Students practise Yogasan and Pranayama and take ‘Sattwik’ vegetarian diet and pure milk obtained from Sivananda Gosala for the balanced development of the body and the mind.

The Managing Committee consists of eminent personalities who had worked in different important capacities and are the devout disciples of H.H. Sri Swami Chidananda Saraswati Maharaj

We have adopted ancient Gurukula system blended with modern curriculum of education. “Sadachar and Paropakar” is our basic ideal. This is the only residential High School in Orissa where value based education as propounded by H.H. Swami Sivananda is practised.We are trying our best to modulate a system of education, which will be useful in giving the right direction to the life and Personality of the students of the present day effectively equipping them with the responsible role of matured citizen. Daily routine of the students is moduled to prepare the students to develop sterling character to walk in the path of truth, discipline, purity selflessness and active goodness. Our aim is to make them ethically perfect and spiritually developed to shine like the Pole Star in the world firmament.

The school is recognized by the Govt. of Orissa and affiliated to the Board of secondary Education, Orissa. We do not seek any grant-in-aid from Govt. It is a self financed institution.

Govt. of orissa has graciously alienated 10 acres of land to the school in the foothills of khandagiri on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. Here, the school is housed in a lush green and serene environment of modern brahmachari Ashram.
